PANews reported on December 16th, citing Decrypt, that US President Trump stated on Monday that he would consider pardoning Keonne Rodriguez, the convicted developer of the Samourai wallet, noting that he was aware of the case. Speaking to the media outlet about Rodriguez's case, Trump said, "I've heard about it, I'll look into it." He then told Attorney General Pam Bondi, who was also present, "We'll look into it, Pam." Bondi then appeared to write something down. Rodriguez was sentenced last month to five years in federal prison for his role in creating the Samourai wallet, a tool that allows Bitcoin users to ensure transaction privacy without transferring funds to third parties. He is scheduled to begin serving his sentence in federal prison this Friday.
